At Caerketton Tech, we believe that companies have a duty to pay back to society. We are passionate about improving the world. Our work in the open source world supports the technological community, but we also love to work with other communities. Our Tech for Good programme sees us team up with others who can put out technical expertise to good use.
We work with organisations who try to make the world a better place.
We work with InsightShare to develop a new Android application to introduce new groups to Participatory Video, which enables them to find a voice with the external world, as well as communicating between such groups. Instead of outsiders coming in to document aspects of their lives, communities are given their own equipment and training. This enables them to tell the their own stories, often with powerful results.
Our Android application is aimed at providing substantially cheaper equipment and training, by basing both on a tablet application, networking the devices across the group.
We also work with Special Effect to develop an eye-controlled chess game which can be used by the severely disabled, eventually enabling them to play others across the world.
